Michael Kent Brewer Sr., 77, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1946, in Iredell County to the late Joe Cephus Brewer Jr. and Dolores Elaine Alley.
Mike was a retired Paramedic after 22 years of service with Iredell County EMS. He enjoyed woodworking, civil war re-enacting, muzzle loaders, fishing, hunting, and camping in the mountains. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Mike was a member of Campbell Masonic Lodge #374 A. F. & A. M. He was a former member of Covenant ARP Church in Statesville and a member of Fallstown Baptist Church.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jane Hinson Brewer; children, Kent Brewer, and Angi Longo and husband Keith; brother, Larry Brent Brewer and wife Ineke; grandchildren, Joshua Brannon McCoy and MaryKate Elizabeth McCoy; niece, Sarah Brewer Verstraten and husband Florens; great-niece and great-nephew, Vera and Phillip Verstraten; and nephew, Brent Brewer.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, December 11, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Pastor David Troutman, Pastor Larry McCoy, and Pastor Jerry Wayne Alley officiating.
