Mr. Paul Gray Parker, 91, was born in Iredell County on October 4,1931, to the late Jacob Parker and Mattie Bell Clark Parker. He departed this life on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Paul graduated from the Iredell County School System, and he was a lifelong member of Shepherd’s Church of God, where he served on the Deacon Board. He was also a janitor, cook, and did general yard maintenance. Paul’s favorite hobbies were working and cooking. He will truly be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul E. Parker of Parkertown, N.C.; four brothers, Dr. John Parker and Pastor Jessie Parker, both of Parkertown, N.C., Phillip Parker of Tampa, Fla, and Reuben Parker of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Evangelist Janie Cain of Parkertown, N.C., and Prophetist Florida Mutz, both of Parkertown, NC.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his memory a wife, Mary Lois Davis Parker, of the home; two sons, Ronnie Jerome Parker and Mark Delane Parker (Kim) of Mooresville NC; one daughter, Lynda Parker of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, David Parker of Mooresville, N.C.; one sister, Lucy Mills of Mooresville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Latoya Parker of Charlotte, N.C., and Marquis Parker and Simone Parker, both of Statesville, N.C.; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and a dog and best friend, Gimzo.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, Statesville, on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. Visitation with the family from 12 to 12:30 p.m. Elder Rayvonne Parker will do the eulogy and burial will follow in the Shepherd’s Church of God Cemetery, 1525, 21 S. Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville, NC.
