Rev. Cecil Everett Foster Jr., 92, of Mooresville, N.C., who enjoyed residing at Terra Bella of Lake Norman, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

He was born on July 26, 1930, in Greenville, S.C., to the late Cecil Everett Foster Sr. and Anna Stephens Foster. Rev. Foster was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a 1949 graduate of Greenville High School and a 1969 graduate of Furman University. He received his master’s degree in church music in 1972 from the Southwestern Baptist Theology Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. Rev. Foster was a master Mason with the Walden Lodge #274 AFM in Greenville, S.C. He was also a member of the Lions Club and honored by being named a Kentucky Colonel in Spartanburg, S.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Davis Foster; daughter, Karen Jean Foster; sisters, Dorothy Freeman and husband, Jim; and Carolyn Strutton; and brother, Jack T. Foster.

He is survived by his son, Mike Foster and wife Donna; grandson, Davis Foster; brother-in-law, Charles Strutton; and sister-in-law, Ann Foster.

A Celebration of Everett’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Lake Norman Baptist Church, 7921 Sam Furr Road, Huntersville, NC with Dr. Robert Blanton officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial with full military honors will be on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg, S.C., with Dr. Benny Littlejohn officiating.
