Richard Henry Kraushaar Sr., loving father of three, grandfather to five and adoring husband of 62 years, was called home to Heaven on November 15, 2023, at 8:45 p.m. in Mooresville, N.C. Richard (aka Dick) was born the youngest of second sons on November 21, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Mr. Vernon & Mrs. Thelma Kraushaar.

He attended Brecksville United Methodist Church for many years and had fond memories of being an active member of both Cuyahoga Valley Church (Broadview Heights, Ohio) and Mosaic Wadsworth (Wadsworth, Ohio), where he and his beloved wife Karen cherished worshiping the Lord, teaching Sunday school, volunteering, and helping his church community and youth.

He loved walking his dog(s). His Golden Retriever(s) were always by his side. Dick and Karen often traveled to visit friends and family. They enjoyed spending summers at their cabin in Pointe Au Baril, Canada, for over 70 years and spending winters in Aiken, S.C.

This kind and loving soul is survived by his sons, Rick (Amanda) Kraushaar and Brad (Kirsten) Kraushaar; granddaughters Mycah, Devi, Zoë and MacKenzie; son-in-law Robert (Kristin) Miller; brother, Vern Kraushaar; and caregiver, Casandra Couch.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Karen Kraushaar; daughter, Lisa Kraushaar-Miller, and grandson Ryan Stiles. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, 494 E Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC 28115. Messages of sympathy and support may also be sent there.
