Mr. Robert Lewis Turner II, 59, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on September 15, 1964, to the late Robert Lewis Turner Sr. and Cornelia Louise Wasson Turner. He departed this life on December 9, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

Robert, who was affectionately known as “Chucky” among his family and friends, achieved academic milestones by earning his diploma from North Iredell High School and pursuing higher education at Saint Leo College in Saint Leo, Fla. His unwavering dedication and commitment were further evident during his tenure in the U.S. Army, where he underwent extensive training and garnered numerous well-deserved medals. In 1997, he married the love of his life, Sylvia Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lewis Turner Sr. and Cornelia Louise Wasson Turner.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Sylvia Turner; three sons, Robert Lewis (Knicole) Turner III and Tyrone T. Turner, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Richard (Ariel) Turner of Las Vegas, Nev.; four daughters, Lynn Davis of Statesville, N.C., Chakeita Andrews of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jasmine Turner and Jana Turner, both of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Jerry Turner (Yvette Ellis) of Statesville, N.C., and Richard Turner of Japan; grandchildren, Dorreco Davis Sr., Tearijah Smith, Kayla Avery, Aneyai Smith, Sanigh Smith, Jayden Turner, Dre’Vion Smith , Xavier Andrews, Brayden Andrews, Journei Turner, Jordan Knox, Trent Turner, and Tyson Turner; one great grandson, Dorreco Davis Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at The Living Church at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be on Monday, December 18, 2023, at The National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. at 10 a.m.
