Scarlett Renee Miller Bertolami, 55, of Islamorada, Fla., and North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in Islamorada, Fla.

Born on November 29, 1967, in Rowan County, N.C., Scarlett was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Newton and Sally Monree Fisher. She was later adopted and raised by the late Charles Homesley. A proud graduate of Rowan County Schools, Scarlett embarked on a fulfilling journey that touched the lives of many.

On November 7, 2015, Scarlett united in marriage with Joseph “Joe” Leo Bertolami, who survives her passing.

Scarlett’s professional endeavors showcased her as a successful contractor, leaving an indelible mark on both the landscapes of Florida and North Carolina. At the time of her untimely departure, Scarlett was actively engaged in a home building project in Rowan County, collaborating with her brother and nephew to create spaces that would endure as a testament to her dedication and craftsmanship.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Scarlett was known for her immense compassion, particularly towards our four-legged companions. Her heart overflowed with love for her cherished dogs, and she extended that love to support numerous charitable organizations devoted to the well-being of animals. Scarlett’s generosity knew no bounds, both in terms of financial contributions and the precious gift of her time.
