Mrs. Trevis Veronica Heaggans Pinkney, 72, was born in Mooresville, N.C., on March 13, 1951, to the late Richard Lee Heaggans and Mable Bernice Cowan Heaggans. She departed this life on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

Mrs. Pinkney attended Iredell County Schools and graduated from South Iredell High School in 1969, and after graduating attended Central Piedmont Community College, where she received an Associate Degree. She was employed for over twenty-five years by Bank of America in the commercial loan department, where she retired, and later worked with Rowan County School Systems until her retirement.

In addition to her parents, Richard and Bernice Heaggans, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Victor Heaggans.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her husband, Robert Pinkney; one son, Tyrone Heaggans of Taylorsville, N.C.; two daughters, Kendra Pinkney of Lexington, N.C., and Nikia Pinkney of the home; other children reared in the home, Yolanda Pinkney and Jahaun Brown, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two grandchildren, Xavier Heaggans of Statesville, N.C., and Kindall Mitchell of Lexington, N.C.; her siblings, Caroyln (Exodus) Rodgers of Lincolnton, N.C., Thaddeus (Cecelia) Heaggans of San Antonio, Texas, Richard Michael (Susan) of Heaggans of Advance, N.C., and Penny Heaggans-Little of Statesville, N.C.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Deborah Pinkney of Newark, N.J., Gregory Pinkney of East Orange, N.J., Phyllis (Earl) Walker of Bloomfield, N.J.; one sister/cousin, Denise (Joseph) McCray of Baltimore, Md.; and a special host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
