Mrs. Virginia Ann Hyde Ellis, 58, was born in Iredell County on May 27, 1965, to Patricia Ann Mathis Hyde and the late James Hyde. She departed this life on Monday, December 19, 2023, at her residence.

Virginia graduated from North Iredell High School and worked as an inspector at Kewaunee Scientific Corporation. She was also a home health worker for years. Virginia was a member of the Knox Grove Baptist Church, where she was a choir member and served on the Kitchen Committee. She was married to the love of her life, Robert Emanuel Ellis.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, David Fitzgerald Hyde; and a grandchild, Angel Hyde.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her husband, Robert Emanuel Ellis; one daughter, Lersonda Ellis of the home; three stepchildren, Dominique Little (Jeffery), Shada Blackwood, and Patricia Blackwood, all of Mooresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Kamelo Little, Khamone Little, Supriya Nichols, Taiden Blackwood, and Tobias Blackwood; siblings, Gonodra Hyde Christian (Roger) of Kings, N.C., James Hyde of Statesville, N.C., Jacquelyn Diane Hyde (Phiptin) Moril) of Harmony, N.C., Vera Ann Hyde Corpening (Darryl) of Statesville, N.C., Dwayne Hyde (Dawn) of Mocksville, N.C., and Janie Lou Hyde of Statesville, N.C.; two aunts, Arilla Dobbins (Larry), and Emma Rutherford; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, church family and friends,

Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Knox Grove Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
