Vivian Carlene Morrison, 91, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and formerly of Statesville, N.C., passed away December 4, 2023 at McKendree Village in Tennessee after an extended illness. She was born April 17, 1932, in Alexander County to the late Carl Morrison and Zora Pierce Morrison Sherrill.

She was married on May 17, 1951, to the late Walter Jackson “Jack” Morrison and was a member of New Amity ARP Church in Statesville, N.C.

Carlene was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack A. Morrison and Reggie Sherrill; and three sisters, Hazel M. Gilleland, Sylvia M. Roberts and Peggy M. Gabriel.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Karen M. Scott and husband Jimmy, and Caroline M. Haddock, all of Tennessee; five grandchildren, Jacqueline S. Turner, Ian Scott, Bryan Scott, Aaron McCary, and Cameron Haddock; along with numerous great, and great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Carolyn H. Sherill of Statesville, N.C., and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at New Amity ARP Church Cemetery 150 Logan New Amity Road, Statesville. Rev. Josh Coffey will officiate. The family will receive friends after the burial at New Amity ARP Church.
