Betty Holland Bennett, 79, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She was the wife of David Bennett and the daughter of the late R B and Pauline Holland.

She was a graduate of Union Grove High School and retired from the Catawba County school system as a school food service supervisor. Betty enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and most of all, she dearly loved her family. She was a wonderful and beautiful wife, and she and David were married 45 years. Her family knew her as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Jane Sweet, and two brothers, Jerry Holland and Joe Holland.

In addition to her husband David Bennett, Betty is survived by one daughter, Juna Stevenson; and two granddaughters, Nicole (Tony) Baity and Tiffany (Rodney) Livingston. Eight great grandchildren also survive, McKinzee Lambert (Michael), Landon Tilley Sr., A Travis Lambert, USAF (Emily), Koby Tilley, Roddrick Livingston, Rodney Livingston Jr., Tyrese Livingston, and Taylor Baity (Dustin); along with two great great grandchildren, Jaxson Estes and Owen Wingler. Further surviving are her siblings, Bob (Connie) Holland of Statesville, N.C., R G Holland of Yerington, Nev., and Becky (Buster) Richardson of Statesville, N.C., one half-sister, Jane Kale; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. One special cousin, Debra Greene; and four special friends, Ronnie Rimmer, Marolyn Schauss, Katie Riddle, and Patti Helms, survive also.

The family would like to thank Hallie T., an RN at Iredell Health System ICU, for the care, compassion, and love that she showed to Betty and her family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church in Union Grove, N.C., with Rev. Joey Tomlin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Edwards, Shane Weber, Chad Weber, Dustin Wingler, Ronda Hoke, and Buster Richardson.
