Betty Hope Marble, 88, of 164 Waterford Drive, Mooresville, N.C., died Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Thamar Abram and Macy Green Jones and grew up on a farm in Mt. Holly, N.C.

She was a former employee of City National Bank which later became Branch Banking & Trust. After retirement, she participated in a tutoring program at Hopewell High School as well as serving on various committees at her church. She enjoyed staying in touch with her colleagues from the bank and her lifelong friends she knew in school. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and traveling. Some of her favorite trips were to Ireland and Italy. She also enjoyed watching college basketball having played on her high school girls team. Betty was a member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church and later Davidson Presbyterian College Church.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers, Rachel Ann Jones, Hillary Barker (Bud), Patsy Broome (Arnie), Elizabeth Broome (Jim), brother-in-law Harold Friday, Helen Killian (Don), Hudson Jones (Regis), Charles Edwin Jones (Polly), Eugene Jones (Eva), and Thamar “Dick” Jones (Pauline).

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Frederic Marble Sr., daughter Julia Marble, and son Frederic Marble Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews of several generations.

A funeral service in her honor will be held Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. at Davidson College Presbyterian Church in Davidson, N.C.
