Brenda VanHorn Alford, 79, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at her residence.

She was born on August 23, 1944, in Maryland to the late George and Hazel VanHorn. Brenda was a retired Registered Nurse for Hospice and was very passionate about her patients and their care. She enjoyed reading and coloring. She loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J. David Alford.

She is survived by her children, Melissa Alford, Brian Alford and wife Tricia, and Kelly Snider; and grandchildren, Sam, Kaitlyn, Ben, Skye, Ethan, Will, and Stella.

The family will hold a private memorial service.
