Mrs. Clara Jane Johnson Tomlin, 76, of Harmony, N.C., died Thursday at Autumn Care of Statesville.

She was born in Wilkes County on October 11, 1947, to the late Commie Johnson and Ina Myers Johnson. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray Johnson and Tommy Johnson, and sister, Sylvia Fox.

She was an owner/operator of a poultry farming business with Perdue Farms for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and flower gardening. She had a great work ethic and was a hard worker. She enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel on Friday nights.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Henry Tomlin; a daughter, Tandra Grant (John); and two brothers Dale Galliher (Penny) and Richard Myers (Claudia). Also surviving are two grandchildren, Adam Grant (Emily) and Savannah Grant and her fiance’ Kevin Jarrell, along with a great grandchild, Peyton Grant. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her two fur grandbabies, Chunk and Roscoe.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Jacob Scott and Rev. John Whalen officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior in the Family Life Center and burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the Building Fund of Harmony Baptist Church, P.O. Box 160 Harmony, NC 28634.
