Charles “Frank” Franklin Burgess, 66, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Carolina Caring Hospice House. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 11, 1958, to the late Roy E. Burgess and E. Alice Cales Burgess.

He graduated from St. Albans High School, where he was a proud All-State football player for the fighting Red Dragons. Soon after graduating from high school, he developed a love and passion for the car industry, where he worked for 35-plus years before retiring. He was a believer in God, enjoyed playing the piano, loved his two dogs Bella and Baron, and his farm and tractors. He loved to spend time with his family, watching football, date nights with his wife, and going to the beach. He was an avid fan of the Carolina Tar Heels.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Ostwalt Burgess of Statesville; three daughters, Alicia Michelle Kalka (Nathan) of Morgantown, W.Va., Stephanie Pouliot (John) of Fort Mill, S.C., and Megan Langdon (Holden) of Plantation, Fla.; three grandsons, William and Easton Pouliot and Bennett Langdon; his mother-in-law, D. Faye Todd; two brothers, Don Burgess (Sindy) of Gastonia, N.C., and Roy Burgess (Patti) of St. Albans, W.Va.; and a sister, Cindy Beane (Jeffrey) of St. Albans, W.Va.

Frank is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation for the public will be held Friday, September 27, at 6 pm at Troutman Funeral Home in Troutman, N.C. A private graveside service will be held for the family along with a celebration of life.
