Jack Milton Murdock, 79, was united with the love of his life, Barbara, on April 25, 2024, while at home with his family. He was born April 10, 1945, to the late John Coit Murdock and Velma Hartsoe Murdock.

Jack was a man of God. He loved his family with everything that he had. He met Barbara while he worked as a Charlotte Police Officer in 1967. She worked as a teller at First National Bank in Mooresville. He would make it a point to see Barbara every week when he cashed his paycheck. They fell in love almost immediately.

Jack went on to be a deputy in the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department, handpicked by Sheriff Leroy Reavis, until 1974. After that he worked at Burlington Mills as an electrician. In 1977, he decided to open his own electrical business. He retired in 2013 to spend more time with Barbara. Jack was also an avid Mooresville Blue Devils football fan. He and Barbara went to almost every game when they were able.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 51 years, Barbara Millsaps Murdock; siblings, Betty Jean Murdock, Larry Allen Murdock (Gayle), Katherine M. Brawley (Zeb), and Rachel M. Martin (Frank).

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Karen Murdock and Kristen Carter (Jesse);
sister, Carol M. Sanders; sister-in-law, Gayle Murdock; grandchildren, Jesse Carter Jr. and Kate Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, April 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Services will be on Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at Triplett Church with Rev.
