Jasper “JT” James Tedder Jr., 82, of Hiddenite, N.C., passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House.

JT was born on August 18, 1941, in Iredell County to the late Jasper James Tedder Sr. and Elizabeth Kirkman Tedder and later married Dorothy Mills Tedder. JT retired from the Army and was a truck driver for Greyrock. He was a member of Calvary Community Church and loved music and playing the guitar and piano.

In addition to his parents, JT was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Rigby, and his brother, Garland Tedder.

Those left to cherish the memory of JT are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Mills Tedder; his children, Lorie Evans (Kyle Brock), Anthony Tedder, and Jackie Douglass (Justin Douglass); and his grandsons, Zachary Evans, Nicholas Evans, Camren Douglass, and Colten Douglass.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Oakwood Cemetery with full military honors and will be officiated by Rev. Jeff Coley. The family will meet with friends following the service at the graveside.
