John Lee Mayberry, 83, of Harmony, N.C. passed away at Gordon Hospice House on April 17, 2024. He was born on October 26, 1940, to the late Rayford Mayberry and Jessie Thomas Mayberry.

He graduated from Harmony High School in 1958, where he met and married his high school sweetheart of 62 years, Dorothy Reavis Mayberry. John was the owner operator of Mayberry Store and a lifetime member at Holly Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for over 50 years. He also served on many committees, loved talking with farmers, wood working, gardening, and fishing.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Mayberry, and his brother, Ralph Mayberry.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Reavis Mayberry; his daughter, Ginger Graves (Tyson); a grandson, Zachary Graves (Rachel); and a great-grandson, Owen Graves.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Gwaltney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Holly Springs Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Home, 204 Idol Street, Thomasville, NC 27360, and Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 355 W. Houstonville Road, Harmony, NC 28634.
