Lynn Cranfill Armstrong, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Mooresville, N.C., on March 19, 2024. Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., on November 11, 1947, to the late William T. “Tommy” Cranfill Sr. and Irene Motsinger Cranfill, Lynn graduated from RJ Reynolds High School and briefly attended UNC-Greensboro. She worked and later retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco with over 30 years of service.

Lynn married her husband, Jack Armstrong, in 1980. He was her best friend and loving partner for over 20 years. She was very social, had many lifelong friends and was an active member of the Winston-Salem Olympic Club.

Lynn and Jack deeply loved shagging the night away. They were both honored with stars on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk for The Shaggers Hall of Fame.

Always ready and the perfect hostess, the lake house was constantly filled with friends and family and she enjoyed every gathering, whether planned or spontaneous.

Lynn especially loved her family, always sending cards, calling to check on everyone and attending every milestone event. Her unfailing kindness and love of life was infectious, drawing people to her throughout her life. She had incredible wit and always spoke her mind, clearly and without hesitation. Her devotion to her grandson, nephews and nieces will always be treasured.

Lynn was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents and her brother, Robert L. Cranfill (Bobby).

Surviving are her brother, W.T. “Bill” Cranfill Jr. (Jenny), step daughter Debbie Lipinsky (Tripp) of Mooresville, grandson Cory Lipinsky, brother-in-law Dan Armstrong, sister-in-law Rosa Cranfill and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, located at 494 East Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC 28115. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you remember Lynn with love and laughter.
