Paul Richard Sigmon, 85, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his home.

Paul was born March 17, 1938, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Clyde and Grace Shook Sigmon. He was a graduate of Celeste-Henkel High School, and on March 10, 1962, he married Ila Mae Pope Sigmon, who survives, of the home. Together, they were members of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church and raised three children.

He worked for Public Oil Co. and later for Cabinet Makers Inc. for over 30 years and went on to co-own Sigmon Custom Cabinets with his wife. He loved his family, working in his garden, rabbit hunting, fishing, cutting wood, finding sharks teeth at the beach and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Ronald Keith Sigmon (Brenda Bennett) of Statesville, Natalie Sigmon Cline (Scott) of Newton, and Brennan Eugene Sigmon (Susan) of Statesville; six grandchildren; Molly Elizabeth Cline, Nina Grace Cline, Kavan Paul Sigmon, Madeline Grace Sigmon, Max Louis Sigmon, and Jake Oliver Sigmon; and one sister, Kaye Sigmon Davidson (Jack).

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Viginia S. Moose, Evaline S. Grant, Betty S. Starrette and Shirley S. Galliher.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Mt Hermon Lutheran Church with Pastor Cam Duecker and Rev. Will Dulin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends following the service.
