Richard “Dick” Carlyle Brady of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Glenwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born December 5, 1940, in Corning, N.Y., to the late Clarence Brady and Hazel Diven Brady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laurie Brady; brothers, Donald, Malcom, and Glenn Brady; and sisters, Alice Polmanteer, and Grace Little.

Dick was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. He was a member of the Class of 1958 at Painted Post High School in Painted Post, N.Y. He was a passionate sports fan and loved the L.A. Dodgers. Dick enjoyed watching Westerns on TV and playing trivia. He worked for Ingersoll Rand for 45 years. He loved to organize class reunions and reminisce about the “good old days.”

Dick is survived by a son, Scott Brady (Heather); and grandchildren, Emma and Joshua Brady.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, February 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A service will be on Friday, February 2, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Father Mark Lawlor officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local animal shelter or plant a tree in Dick’s memory.
