Robin Wilson, 62, of Mooresville, N.C, died very peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. She was born in Florence, S.C., on April 8, 1962.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Jean and Davis Allen of Florence; her husband, Paul J. Wilson of Mooresville; three daughters, Jessica Babington (Joe) of Mooresville, Kelly Wilson of San Diego, Calif., and Katelyn Wilson of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Justin Wilson of Charlotte; a sister, Kelly Thomson (Garth) of Florence; two brothers, Doug (Connie) and Glen (Elaine) Vaught, both of Florence; and her two beloved furry dogs, Duke and Scarlett.

Robin was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Vaught of Florence.

Robin graduated from West Florence High School. She also spent time residing in Charlotte and Manchester, N.H., before moving to Mooresville in 2000.

Robin was an extremely outgoing and social person, who loved spending time with family and friends. Two of her greatest passions were planning an annual family vacation at some exclusive international location, and a mountain trip over Thanksgiving where the family would gather for lots of great food, football, movies, and games.

Robin could also organize any event or party, big or small, with ease. Many friends and family have fond memories of the Wilson New Year’s Eve and Kentucky Derby parties.

Robin also loved the water, so enjoyed spending time on her boats in Charleston, S.C., and the simple pleasure of sitting on her back porch overlooking Lake Norman. She was also passionate about her tennis team (the “Honey Badgers”) until she injured her back.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Robin’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 26, at the First Presbyterial Church. Memorial contributions may the made to the First Presbyterian Church, 249 W McLelland Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28115 or the charity of your choice.
