Susan Elizabeth Campbell Templeton, 76, of Union Grove, N.C., died peacefully at home on May 19, 2024. Susan was born in 1948 to B.W. Campbell and Annie Laurette Couch Campbell. She was one of five children (Jeff, Eddie, Gerald and Charles).
She was preceded in death by B.W. Campbell (Father), Laurette Campbell (Mother), and her brother Jeff Campbell. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Randy Templeton; son, Skye (Katie); daughter, Laura (William); and two granddaughters, Sydney and Riley Templeton.
She graduated from Union Grove High School in 1966 and Appalachian State University in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She would later earn her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Susan had a tremendous love of working with children. She taught school for 30 years; for most of her career she taught at Union Grove Elementary School. She was an active member in her church, teaching Sunday school and being a part of other church groups, at Smith Chapel and Union Grove Christian Church.
Susan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She left a lasting impression on all that met her. She will be missed by both family and friends, especially her always present smile.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Union Grove Christian Church. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 3 p.m. The service will be at 3 p.m. with the burial to follow.

I was beyond blessed to have Mrs. Templeton, as my 3rd grade teacher. After becoming an adult, she was a blessing anytime I was honored to see her out and about. Randy, please know that our prayers are with you and your family. She will definitely be missed but has left a beautiful legacy. May God bless and comfort you all.
