William “Bill” Maynard Putnam, 75, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 30, 1948, in Burlington, Vt., to the late Helen Runion Putnam. Mr. Putnam was a veteran. He served in the U.S. Navy as Seabee. He will always be remembered as a hard worker. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dawn Torbert Putnam; daughter, Tamera Felcoski and husband Daniel Jr.; grandson, Daniel Felcoski III; sisters, Darlyne Catletti and husband Clyde, and Robin Miller and husband Mark; sisters-in-law, Gay Oswalt and husband Gene, and Sandy Hudson and husband Brian; brother-in-law, Wayne Torbert and wife Helga; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 2, at Salisbury National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Pastor Luke Connor officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
