Thomas Blair Ellis, 71, of Statesville, N.C., died on December 2, 2025 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, N.C. Born on November 9, 1954, he was the son of the late Thomas Ellis and Jean Lamberth Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Henry Bauer, and his sister, Sandra Ellis Stafford.

Mr. Ellis was a proud graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone. He loved the UNC Tarheels, playing golf with his friends, and sports in general. In addition to sports, he loved to travel and spending time with his family and friends. For most of his career, he worked in the news and marketing industry.

Tom is survived by a number of people who were very important to him, including his son, Derek Everhardt (Susan Leonard); several cousins, including Janet Wooten, Lynn Ellis, and Jimmy Moore; and by Addison Atwell, who he thought of as a granddaughter.

A receiving of friends will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville from 6 until 8 p.m.
