Erica Shantae Long Price, 53, of Riverside Drive, Greensboro, N.C., entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C., surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Iredell County on December 9, 1972, she was the beloved daughter of Patty Sherrill Cone, and Fredrick and Rev. Leslie Morrison.
She was preceded in death by those who helped shape her early life and legacy, her foster grandparents, Dupree and Emma Belle Sherrill; her grandmother, Odessa Morrison Knight; and her grandfather, Frank A. Scott.
Erica was a proud graduate of Statesville High School and continued her studies at Mitchell Community College. She made her home in Greensboro, N.C., and faithfully served as a member of Abundant Life Ministries, where her voice lifted in praise as part of the praise team. Her love for the Lord was not only spoken, but lived, reflected in her spirit, her resilience, and the way she poured into others.
Erica carried a gift for creation in her hands and imagination in her heart. A designer and crafter in every sense, she could take a simple idea and turn it into something beautiful and meaningful. Once she set her mind to something, it was as good as done. She moved with determination, purpose, and a quiet confidence that inspired those around her. She also found peace and joy at the beach, where the rhythm of the waves seemed to mirror her calm spirit and love for life’s simple, beautiful moments.
Her creativity and eye for design extended into her professional life, where she worked for Re-Bath, taking pride in her work and the spaces she helped transform. Yet her greatest joy was found in her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, filling their lives with love, laughter, wisdom, and warmth. Her presence was a covering, her love a constant, and her legacy is one that will continue to live on in each life she touched.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her children, Marquis Long of Statesville, Ja’Shon Long of Claremont, and Aliya Parks of Troutman; her grandchildren, Malik Pineda, Andrew Edwards, Julian Long, Serenity Long, Jayden Long, Riley Barber, Hayven Jones, and Ezekiel Foote; her brothers, Rickey (Yashica) Long of Troutman, Dexter (Felicia) Samuels of Orlando, Fla., Affion Crockett of Los Angeles, Calif., and Sheldon Candis of Los Angeles, Calif.; her aunts and uncles, including Freddie Sherrill, Margaret (JD) Wellman, Leon (Mary Bell) Parker, Catherine Summers, Mitchell (Cherise) Scott, Maurice Scott, Melvina Porter, Monique Perry, Marquisse Scott, and Lisa Moser; grandmother Peggy Trimble of Statesville, her bonus grandparents, Charles and Deloris McCaskill; her godsister, Saira Estrada; special cousins, Rev. Reba (Rev. Eric) Ijames and Denise Peek; a special friend, Stephon L. White of Winston-Salem; her special friends who were like sisters, Tomeka Allen of Greensboro and Vanessa “Gail” Lazenby of Landis, N.C.; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2 p.m. Reverend Dr. Dietrich Morrison Danner will officiate and Apostle Edward Kirkpatrick of Abundant Life in Greensboro will eulogize. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2 p.m. and at other times will assemble at the residence of Fredrick and Rev. Leslie Morrison, 176 West Meadowview Drive Statesville, NC 28625.
