
Gloria Lee Berry Elliott, 90, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home.
She was born on April 18, 1936, in Carter County, Tenn., to the late Jim and Viola Oaks Berry. Mrs. Elliott retired from Burlington Industries in Mooresville.
Gloria spent many cherished moments in her life going fishing, where she found joy in the beauty of nature. Alongside her late husband Jack, she loved to travel, creating lasting memories during their trips to Las Vegas, where they celebrated their marriage. Her adventurous spirit and zest for life were felt by all who knew her.
In addition to her travels, Gloria adored her time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she poured into her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. Elliott; sister, Nettie Clark; brother, Johnny Berry; half-sister, Billie Partin; and half-brothers, Nolan Rudisill and Jerry Rudisill.
She is survived by her children, Veryl Guinn, Gerald Guinn (Kathy), Johnny Guinn, Sandra “Sandy” Bowers, and Selma Coren; half-brother, Larry Rudisill; and 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 14, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Clubb officiating. Burial will follow the service at First United Methodist Church Cemetery in Troutman.
