Karen Lee Nates Kieffer, 74, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was born on July 6, 1951, in Massachusetts, to the late Ervin and Catherine Goodrow Nates.

Mrs. Kieffer was a graduate of Revere High School. She was a really good cook, enjoyed crafts, reading and studying the Bible, and going to the beach. Mrs. Kieffer had a very giving heart and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Reginald “Reggie” Kieffer; children, Andrea Beth Kolb and husband Hichem, and Eric A. Freisinger and wife Dana; grandchildren, Haley Marie Kolb, Meah and Ari Freisinger; and brother, Dan Nates.

Karen’s family will have a celebration of her life in Lititz, Pa., in the near future.
