Monica Follrod Steele, 43, of Deer Valley Drive, Cleveland, N.C., passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2026, following an extended battle with health complications.

She was born April 7, 1983, in Mercer County, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tiffany Hall; and grandparents, Buddy Follrod and wife Linda, Patty Barber, and Mary Hall.

Monica will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Steele; father, Shawn L. Follrod and stepmother Angie Follrod; mother, Greta Dameron; sons, Jacob Steele and wife Danielle, Landon Steele, Kaleb Steele and Alessandra. She is also survived by her two brothers and sister, Shawn C. Follrod and wife Jordan, Chantal Martin and husband Jadon and Dalton Follrod and wife Hannah; grandchildren, Emery Steele, Damian Fillpot, and Luciana Hinsle; nieces Jesse and Carly Hall, Avery and Riley Martin, and Willa Follrod; and nephews Brent Lee Follrod, Clay Aiden, and Titus Hall. Monica is further survived by her uncles, Rod Follrod and wife Lolita, Chad Follrod, and Bobby Dameron; aunt, Jennifer Walls and husband Clyde; along with several cousins and extended family members.

Monica’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her strength through life’s struggles, her love for her family, and the memories shared with her will never be forgotten.
