Trevor Roman, 24, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on April 18, 2026. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., on February 4, 2002, Trevor was a loving son and a vibrant soul who brought a unique light and infectious energy into the world from the very beginning.
A graduate of Bessemer City High School, Trevor was known by all who knew him as a natural comedian. With a goofy sense of humor and a playful way with words, he had an effortless ability to turn any moment into a memory filled with laughter. Beneath his humor was a “heart of gold” — he was the kind of man who would truly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Trevor was defined by a rare combination of kindness and strength; he possessed a fierce protective spirit and would stand up to anything or anyone to ensure the safety and happiness of those he loved.
While Trevor had many passions, including a newfound love for traveling and exploring new places with his family, his greatest pride was his role as a loving father. He considered his daughters his most significant achievement, and he poured every ounce of his heart into them. His happiest moments were those spent at home or on the road with his fiancee, Samantha, and his girls, Emery and Reina. Trevor was also filled with joy at the news of his expected niece, Auria; he spoke often of his excitement for her arrival, dreaming of the day his daughters and their new cousin would grow up as best friends and do everything together.
Trevor’s legacy of strength, laughter, and unconditional love lives on through his family. He is survived by his fiancee, Samantha; his two beloved daughters, Reina and Emery; his father, Robert; his mother, Kelly; his brothers, Robert, Joel, and Lennex; and his sister, Dassia. He also leaves behind his cherished nephews, Julian and Jeremiah, and his soon-to-be-expected niece, Auria, along with a host of friends who became family.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will be remembered every time a joke is shared or family gathers together.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home of Statesville, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bill Troutman officiating. Trevor will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery.
