
William “Billy” Claude Myers, 65, was born in Iredell County on December 7, 1960, and was the son of the late Johnny Ray Myers and Laura Jo Hall Myers. He departed this life on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
William worked in manufacturing until his health declined. He was a 1979 graduate of Statesville Sr. High School. He joined St. Peter Baptist Church at an early age. William was a man of few words with many talents. He enjoyed sports, and his favorite teams were Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Braves.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by granddaughter Kaneycha Turner, brothers Robert Myers and Donnie Myers, and sister, Dianathayer La-June Myers Turner.
Billy, as he was called, leaves to cherish the memories of his life three daughters, Latoya Rucker and Tara Myers, both of Statesville, N.C., and Miracle Myers of the home; his grandchildren, Jh’Karei Manns, Quaderra Parks, Trenton Myers, Na’Chedyn Smyre, A’meiyon Sherrill, Jayla Turner and Kenan Turner Jr.; great grandchildren Trevon Brown Jr. and Tar’yn Myers; brothers, Ronald (Chaneta) Hall, Johnny (Lisa) Myers Jr. and Steven (Sharon ) Myers Sr., all of Statesville; sisters Anita (Herbert) Pickens of Independence, Mo., Patricia (Ray) Ramseur of Statesville, N.C., and Yolanda (Lowery) Johnson of Mooresville, N.C.; a special niece, Natasha Myers; a special friend Phyllis Simpson; Uncle Philip Blackwell and Aunt Elaine Blackwell; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Billy will truly be missed by all.
