Kewaunee Scientific Corporation has been recognized with a major statewide award honoring the impact of its Well Living program, as the company celebrates the program’s 10-year anniversary and the opening of its expanded Associate Wellness Center. The company was named a recipient of the North Carolina Business Coalition on Health’s Culture of Wellbeing Award and has also earned consistent Gold-level recognition from Cigna since 2019 for its commitment to employee health and well-being.

Together, these recognitions reflect a decade of sustained investment in Associate health and well-being, built on a model that prioritizes accessibility, strong partnerships, and practical, measurable outcomes.

A Milestone Week for Well Living

The award coincided with a series of events marking the program’s 10-year milestone and the opening of the new Kewaunee Wellness Center.

Kewaunee hosted a community ribbon cutting that brought together company leadership, the Wellness Team, and healthcare and wellness partners. The following day, associates were invited to a companywide open house to tour the clinic and explore the expanded resources now available to support their health.

Together, these events highlighted how the Well Living program has evolved from early investments into a comprehensive, onsite program designed to meet Associates where they are.

Built on Partnerships and Proven Impact

During the event, Beth Phillips, vice president of People and Culture, reflected on the program’s evolution, connecting its origins to the impact seen today. She emphasized the importance of strong partnerships and internal support, consistent investment, and intentional program design in creating a model that is both sustainable and effective.

A Wall of Wellness and program timeline reinforced that message, showcasing key milestones such as the opening of the company’s first onsite clinic and fitness center, the launch of Diabetes Navigation, and years of screenings and wellness-focused education that have made care accessible and relevant for associates.

A New Wellness Center Supports the Next Chapter

The new Kewaunee Wellness Center brings these efforts together in one place, offering convenient access to high-quality resources that support prevention, education, and long-term health.

The company also recognized the partners who play an essential role in delivering these services, including Banner Drug, Binder Chiropractic, Iredell Health System, Fern Creek Dentistry, USI, and Quest Diagnostics.
