Two suspects are charged with multiple felonies related to the theft and sale of a large amount of tools from a garage near Mooresville.
Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrests of Matthew David Suzelis, 26, and Grace Luella Wetmore, 23, in a news release.
Deputy Jacob Young, who is assigned to the ICSO Community Oriented Policing Unit, responded to 290 Judas Road on Saturday, November 30, in reference to a larceny which had occurred.
Young spoke with the victim, who advised the garage to the residence had been broken into and a large amount of tools had been stolen.
According to the news release, the victim reported that Suzelis and Wetmore had admitted they were responsible for the theft. The victim then provided Deputy Young with pawn slips which had been given to him by Suzelis, Campbell said.
The couple had pawned the stolen tools at various pawn shops in and around Iredell and Rowan counties, according to the news release.
ICSO detectives Hollie Bath and Patrick Dixson located Suzelis and Wetmore and were able to gain statements from the suspects about their involvement in three different breaking and entering incidents, Campbell said.
Suzelis and Wetmore were taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center.
