An Iredell County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit helped authorities in Yadkin County apprehend a suspect in an armed robbery on Monday.

ICSO deputies responded to a home on Hunting Creek Church Road after the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance tracking Brandon Tyler Stacy, 25, who was suspected of committing a robbery at that location.

Stacy, a Yadkinville resident who is a verified member of the Folk Nation gang, was believed to be armed with a handgun, according to an ICSO news release.

Deputy Hodges deployed K-9 Sadie and the team began tracking the suspect through a wooded area near the victim’s residence. After an approximately half mile track, the team came to an abandoned barn, where Stacy was located.

Stacy attempted to run away but Iredell and Yadkin deputies apprehended him, Sheriff Darren Campbell said.

Yadkin County deputies arrested Stacy and charged him with felony common law robbery, five counts of felony second-degree kidnapping, felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, five counts of misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, two counts of misdemeanor resisting a public officer, misdemeanor injury to personal property, and misdemeanor interfering with emergency communications.

Stacy was issued a $1 million secured bond by a Yadkin County magistrate. According to the ICSO, his criminal record includes the following charges: multiple counts of felony breaking and entering, multiple counts of larceny, multiple assault charges and drug-related charges.
