Mitchell Community College recently announced the selection of a new director for the college’s Small Business Center.

Gregory Cain transitioned to the role on July 15, succeeding Suzanne Wallace in the position.

Cain recently served as an instructor and the program coordinator for Mitchell’s Information Technology program. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Clemson University along with technical certifications from Oracle, Microsoft and Lotus Notes. Throughout his 20-plus year career, Cain has worked with small- and medium-sized businesses to overcome challenges and to solve technical and business-related problems. His commitment to assisting small businesses led Cain to launch a consulting business in 2011.

Cain brings passion, energy and enthusiasm to assist small businesses in Iredell County. He believes that serving in the Small Business Center provides the perfect opportunity to build a strong team delivering quality counseling, seminars and core business classes to the small business owners in Iredell County. Cain also believes in the significance of interacting with the local business community to maximize the service offerings of Mitchell’s Small Business Center.

Cain looks forward to meeting and working with current and prospective small business owners in Iredell County. The Small Business Center’s primary goal is to provide services to help individuals open a small business as well as to add and retain jobs in existing small businesses.
