FROM STAFF REPORTS

Four Iredell-Statesville Schools schools will return to in-person learning on Monday, September 13, after being forced to remote instruction by rising COVID-19 numbers.

North Iredell High, Lakeshore Middle, West Iredell Middle and Scotts Elementary students will return to campus on Monday, I-SS officials said Friday.

Meanwhile, officials have extended remote learning at Central Elementary and East Iredell Middle through Friday, September 17. Students at those schools are expected to return to campus on Monday, September 20.

The district also announced that Pressly School was moving to remote learning through Friday, September 17, with an anticipated return to in-person learning on Monday, September 20.

Masks are mandatory for students and staff at all I-SS students. Exceptions are made for those with a medical waiver signed by a medical professional.

The I-SS Board began the school year with a mask optional policy, but reversed course during the second week of school after a sharp increase in positive COVID-19 tests and quarantines mandated by close contact rules.
