FROM STAFF REPORTS

Iredell-Statesville Schools announced Friday that, effective immediately, students and staff are no longer required to wear a mask while outdoors.

Additionally, I-SS will no longer require athletes to wear face coverings during outdoor practice and/or competition, the district said.

“We will continue to encourage everyone to remain vigilant in wearing face coverings in group settings, maintaining six feet of distance between yourself and others not in your household, and washing your hands regularly,” I-SS officials said in a statement. “If we continue to do this, together, we can defeat COVID-19.”
