Utility Billing Specialist/Customer Service Representative

Job Description: Performs difficult administrative and skilled clerical work involving utilities billing, collections, financial records, accounting, and customer service functions.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by business courses and secretarial or office support experience including customer service support, considerable experience in municipal government, three to five years billing experience in a billing operation involving multiple step tasks and use of billing software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An Associate’s Degree in Business or Accounting is preferred

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Associate Planner

Job Description: The Town of Troutman is seeking candidates for Associate Planner in its three-person Planning Department to participate in a variety of both current and long-range planning initiatives.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, Public Administration or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred but not required). Minimum three years’ full-time experience working in  ocal government in a planning capacity. A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to effectively perform the job.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Patrol Officer

Job Description: The Town of Troutman is seeking individuals that wish to work proactively in patrol officer capacity. Salary is adjustable based upon experience and qualifications.

Required Experience and Training: Graduation from High School or attained a General Educational Development certification (GED); and successful completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certified by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Must possess a valid or current BLET certificate.

Work Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts with permanent days or nights at this time based on seniority and availability.
