Iredell Museums will host living history demonstrations on Saturday, September 17, at Gregory Creek Homestead.

There will be oil paint making demonstrations, as well as fiber dying and corn husk dolls. 

There will also be farm animals on site from Westward Farms and a farm stand from Second Wind Perennial Farms featuring seasonal produce and goodies.

The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., is free to the public but donations are appreciated and support ongoing operations and programs.

Located at 1335 Museum Road in Statesville, Gregory Creek Homestead has nine cabins gathered from Iredell County, including a one-story cabin, a two-story cabin, a livestock barn, a forge, a smokehouse, a corn crib, a mother-in-law’s cabin, an open barn and a schoolhouse.

Crossroads Exhibit

Also this Saturday, Iredell Museums’ Court Street location will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. for the exhibit “Crossroads: Change in Rural America.” The museum is located at 134 Court Street in Statesville. Admission is by donation.
