Iredell County health officials reported more than 600 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, along with the county’s 380th death attributed to the coronavirus.

With the 666 new laboratory confirmed cases reported Friday, the total number of cases in the county since the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020 now stands at 41,826.

The Iredell County Health Department does not release personal information about COVID-19 patients, including individuals who lose their lives. 

Eighty-seven people who have tested positive for COVID-19, including 74 Iredell residents, were hospitalized with health complications across the county on Friday.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, Iredell remains a high-transmission county with a seven-day positivity rate of 38.19 percent.

The CDC reports that only 21.3 percent of the county’s population over age 18 is fully vaccinated with a booster.
