The deadline to submit applications to serve as the Mooresville Graded School District’s next superintendent closed on May 23. The MGSD Board of Education is pleased with the number of applications received, totaling 22 applications from 10 different states. The response rate to the search shows the appeal that MGSD and its community have to candidates nationwide.

Board Chair Roger Hyatt said he is encouraged with the number of applicants interested in MGSD.

“Our task as a School Board is to match the talents, skills and experience of the applicant with the culture and requirements of our district. The number of folks interested in the MGSD superintendency increases the opportunities for us to find the ideal candidate to lead our district,” he stated.

The applications will be processed by the N.C. School Boards Association and released to the board. The board looks forward to reviewing the applications and moving into the interview stage of the superintendent search process in June.
