FROM STAFF REPORTS

With the deadline for candidate filing for numerous municipal offices throughout Iredell County and three seats on the Mooresville Graded School District Board of Education rapidly approaching, several races have only one candidate or no candidates.

Among the contests where there are no candidates are mayor of Troutman, mayor of Love Valley and Harmony Town Council (4 seats).

Candidate filing began on Friday, July 7, and ends at noon on Friday, July 21. The filing fee for these offices is $5 or $10.

Voters in the City of Statesville will elect three city councilmembers on October 10 — with a run-off, if necessary, on November 7.

All of the other elections are scheduled for November 7 — with the exception of the Town of Mooresville, which will hold a primary on October 10, if necessary.
