Fort Dobbs State Historic Site will host an artisan farmers market on the first and third Tuesday of each month, beginning October 17.

Local farmers will be joined by crafters and artists to offer unique and delicious goods for sale.

Betty Williams of Homespun by Betty approached the site with the idea of a relaxed market away from the bustle of downtown. Vendors must pre-register and meet N.C. Department of Revenue qualifications for doing business.

Event hours are 3 to 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
