Chris Boyd, a civil engineer, recently met with Cub Scout Pack 173 Webelos 1 to share information about engineering. The Scouts are based in Mt. Mourne.

Boyd, an Eagle Scout who works building bridges around the area, presented a Power Point slide explaining how to become an engineer, the different types of engineers, how simple machines are used in engineering, and the education required to become an engineer.

During the presentation, he talked about different bridge structures and what goes into building a bridge from the ground up. He also brought in materials and showed the Scouts how the process works.
