Nine suspects faces felony drug charges, including conspiracy, as a result of a six-month, multi-agency investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl in Iredell County.
Narcotics Investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, along with investigators from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, special agents with the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and federal agencies began the investigation in January.
During the investigation, undercover investigators purchased narcotics directly from individuals involved in the sale of methamphetamine or fentanyl and facilitated sales using confidential informants, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a news release.
As the investigation ensued, investigators seized over 440 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 10 grams of powdered fentanyl, and 200 suspected fentanyl pills with a combined street value of over $25,000, the sheriff said.
“Dismantling this group of drug dealers will directly impact the sale and distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl in Iredell County and the City of Statesville,” Campbell said.
Suspects
After compiling all of the evidence in this investigation, ICSO narcotics investigators testified before an Iredell County grand jury on July 5. The grand jury determined there was sufficient evidence to charge the following suspects:
