The Town of Mooresville is partnering with Cone Health, a not-for-profit comprehensive health care network based in Greensboro, to bring a new health care option to employees, retirees, and dependents who are actively enrolled in a Town medical plan.

The Employee Care Center (ECC) will provide a comprehensive range of primary care, acute care, occupational health, laboratory, and pharmacy services.

“We are pleased to partner with Cone Health, and we are confident that this proactive approach to long-term health and well-being will be a real benefit for our team and for our community,” said Mooresville Town Manager Tracey Jerome.

The Employee Care Center’s services are in addition to the variety of benefits already offered to Town of Mooresville team members such as health, life, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits.

Cone Health Employer Health & Wellness Solutions puts an emphasis on value-based care. It encourages preventative care through screenings and offers classes and events that focus on a range of topics, from healthy eating to exercise to the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes.

“Like the rest of us, governments and business are concerned about the high cost of health care,” explained Dr. Angela Bacigalupo, supervising physician for Cone Health Employer Health & Wellness Solutions clinics. “While it’s great to offer advanced hi-tech health care, when someone has a heart attack it’s too late. Our goal is to keep employees and their families healthy and avoid the high cost of care to treat diseases that are truly avoidable.”

The ECC will be open Monday through Friday starting May 18 at 435 E. Statesville Avenue.
