The Gemstone District Cub Scouts recently held their annual Cub Scout Olympics at West Iredell High School. Gold medal winners from Cub Scout Packs throughout Iredell County qualified to participate in the competition.
Cub Scouts participated by age group in eight events, including softball throw, broomstick throw, push-ups, sit-ups, 50-yard dash, running long jump, standing long jump and football kick. Ribbons were given for 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-place finishers in each event for each age group.
A total of 16 Scouts from five different Cub Scout Packs competed in the Olympics. Every Scout participating received an “I Did My Best” ribbon.
