Iredell Health System on Tuesday announced the hiring of Angel Ross as the system’s new chief nursing officer and vice president of nursing and patient care services.

Angel Ross

Ross brings over 25 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience spanning inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency services, and large-scale ambulatory surgery operations. Her career reflects a consistent record of elevating clinical quality, strengthening nursing culture, and leading teams through growth, transformation, and operational excellence.

“I am excited to join Iredell Health because of the organization’s deep commitment to its community and its people,” said Ross. “Iredell has a strong reputation for teamwork, compassion, and patient-centered care, and I look forward to partnering with our nursing teams and interdisciplinary leaders to continue strengthening care for those we serve.”

Ross joins the Iredell Health System from Advocate Health, where she served as regional administrative director for the Wake County area, leading multi-site surgical teams with a portfolio capacity of 25,000 annual cases and spearheading multiple ambulatory surgery center launches. Previously, she served as administrator of SouthPark Surgery for Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Associates, functioning as the center’s CEO and driving major gains in staffing stability, patient outcomes, and financial performance. Her background also includes extensive inpatient leadership at Novant Health and CaroMont Health.

Ross earned her MBA from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Charlotte, and she is currently in pursuit of her doctorate. She is a Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC) and has been widely recognized and published for her contributions to clinical excellence, operational strategy, and nursing leadership in Carolina Women Today Journal, Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Outpatient Surgery Magazine, and Becker’s Healthcare.

“We are excited for the vision, energy, and depth of experience Angel brings to our organization and to the patients and families we serve,” shared John Green, Iredell Health president & CEO.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ross is deeply committed to community, family, and the outdoors. Since relocating to the Mooresville area last year, she and her family have enjoyed exploring the region’s natural beauty, gardening, and becoming part of the local community. She looks forward to continuing to build relationships across Iredell Health System and the broader region.
