The N.C. State Highway Patrol has identified the woman who was fatally injured in a crash on Interstate 77 in northern Iredell County on Wednesday morning.

Nicky Cherie Farrow, 30, of Lenoir was traveling north on I-77 about 8:38 a.m. when her 2015 GMC Yukon left the roadway near mile marker 61 and crashed into several trees, troopers said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the NCSHP’s initial investigation, neither excessive speed nor driver impairment are suspected to be contributing factors in the crash.
