Betty Lou Stowe Broome, 82, of Statesville, N.C., entered in to rest on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Autumn Care of Statesville. A native of Mecklenburg County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Marvin West and Connie Hubbard Stowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Buckner Broome Sr., and by two brothers and three sisters.

For many years, she worked in the textile industry and was a member of Crystal Waters Baptist Church. It brings great solace to the family of Mrs. Broome knowing that she and their father are both in Heaven doing the “Twist.” Many hours of happiness were enjoyed dancing.

Surviving Mrs. Broome is her son, David Buckner Broome Jr. and his wife Lisa of Statesville; by two daughters, Dawn Williams of Waxhaw, N.C., and Debra Sue Eyrich of Taylorsville, N.C. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Donald Broome, Paul Eyrich, Mandy Eyrich, Amber Ober, Samantha Hooker, Tyler Broome, Drew Trexler, Kayla Broome, Haley Willard and Sydney Williams, along with 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granchild.

Mrs. Broome will Lie in Repose at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, June 5, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Donnie Stowe will officiate.
