Clarence Edward Black Sr., 90, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville. He was born on August 17, 1929, to the late Charles and Alice Regina Crawford Black. Mr. Black was a retired card room operator for Mooresville Mills. He was a member of Mt. Mourne Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Gryder Black; daughter, Brenda B. Day; and brothers, James, Robert and Jess Black and Jake Porter. He is survived by son, Clarence E. Black Jr.; sister, Betty Parr; grandchildren, Jason Black and Jeffrey Day (Susan); and great grandchildren, Joshua Day and Jesse Spear.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020, at the Mt. Mourne Church of God. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Park, Statesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
